LAST SUMMER AT LA TERRASSE UNIFRANCE
Founded in 1949, Unifrance is the organisation responsible for promoting French cinema and TV content worldwide.
Located in Paris, Unifrance employs around 50 staff members, as well as representatives based in the U.S., in China and in Japan. The organisation currently brings together more than 1,000 French cinema and TV content professionals (producers, talents, agents, sales companies, etc.) working together to promote French films and TV programmes among foreign audiences, industry executives, and media.
Unifrance is supported by the French government, the CNC, the Institut français, the PROCIREP and by many public and private partners.
Support the export of French films and television programmes around the world by ensuring a systematic presence at the main international festivals and markets (Berlin, Series Mania, MIPTV/MIPCOM, Cannes, Annecy, Locarno, Venice, Toronto, San Sebastian, MIA, IDFA, Busan, ATF, etc.). To further expand reach, Unifrance organises the Unifrance Rendez-vous in Paris and Biarritz, the world’s largest markets dedicated to French films and television programmes. Unifrance is also developing digital tools to enable foreign broadcasters, distributors and festivals to view films and TV content.
Support professionals, artists and French productions internationally throughout the value chain, from production to distribution, including promotion, by means of tailored assistance and tools: referencing of works and professionals, networking mechanisms, travel funding, organisation of meetings with the press, image operations, creation of content to highlight works and artists, cross-disciplinary activities, etc.
Contribute to the promotion of French films(feature-length and short) and television works among international spectators, with the constant concern of expanding audiences, through the organisation or support of dedicated festivals and the implementation of actions favouring exchanges between artists and professionals and the international public (masterclasses, round tables, Q&As, production of digital content, exhibitions).
Analyse the performance and assets of the French film and television industry worldwide, and keep a constant watch on international markets via methodical monitoring and adapted tools: collection and analysis of information, economic surveying, production of statistics and studies, etc. This unique expertise enables Unifrance to offer valuable support to its members and professionals in the sector.
Raise awareness of the French film and television industry among key market players (distributors, broadcasters, producers, artists, press, exhibitors, VOD platforms and foreign institutions) by encouraging dialogue about the concerns of French creation in these fields.
Encourage and facilitate diversity and development in French creation, through distribution support for works by young professionals and emerging artists, and highlight French expertise – particularly in certain high potential cross-disciplinary areas and/or vectors of innovation (short films, VR, documentary, animation, genre films and series, etc.).
