One month to go until le Rendez-Vous 2019 in Biarritz; my first Rendez-Vous as part of the team. After my excellent experience as a guest in 2018, I am now privy to the inner workings of the well-oiled machine that is the complex organisation of Le Rendez-Vous.
Of course, not a day goes by when we do not think of Catherine. “What would she have done?” we ask. But mainly, “How on earth did she do all this?” And while our sadness is always present, we cannot help but smile as we thinking of her dancing or joking. We are sure she is sending good vibes to support us as we strive to live up to her ambitions for the event. And live up to her expectations we most certainly will!
Having been a guest in 2018, I can completely understand our buyers’ excitement as they rush to kick off their year with the Biarritz breeze in their hair. We already have 214 buyers signed up, which is more than at the same date last year. With the help of SEDPA (Association of Audiovisual Programme Distributors), this year we have once again tightened up our lists and paid particular attention to increasing the number of international digital buyers present.
If you have any suggestions, please do not hesitate to let us know before 28 June. You are the greatest ambassadors for le Rendez-Vous and the special opportunities it affords attendees. Together, we can make the event even bigger!
This year, we are reinforcing our communications with buyers with more in-development content available on rdvbiarritz.com as well as dedicated newsletters.
We have also restructured and clarified our pricing for members. What you see is what you get: registration, stand, number of nights, screening room – it’s all laid out for you!
In 2019, we are also continuing to transition to a more digital event: you cannot fail to have noticed our online registration process, which helps us to manage registrations and ensure services during the market. There are also other innovations in the pipeline: our Guide and Who’s Who have gone 100% digital, and we have made accessing statistics and screenings much easier.
Plus, we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to the fun side of things. Thanks to numerous creative proposals received, we have plenty to entertain you during lunches and dinners. One thing’s for sure – you will never be bored!
And the fun will begin from the (almost) crack of dawn each day, with Eurodata’s traditional Monday morning presentation and Tuesday’s 5k jog. Start training now!
